Experts at NCBJ combine experiments and machine learning to study new alloys
Due to their high strength and thermal stability, refractory complex concentrated alloys (RCCA) can be used in applications where components are exposed to extreme conditions. However, a thorough understanding of their properties and behavior during operation is necessary before they can be implemented. A team of scientists from the NOMATEN Centre of Excellence and Materials Research Laboratory at NCBJ combined experimental methods with computer simulations to study the MoTaW alloy.

Young physicists presented their projects at NCBJ. 21st “Physical Paths” Competition concluded
The final of the 21st edition of the nationwide “Physical Paths” competition took place on 17 April at the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ). Students from across Poland, along with their teachers and representatives of the scientific community and public administration, gathered in Otwock. The winners have now been announced.
4NEW project inauguration

Ceremonial Scientific Council
On March 10, 2026, the National Centre for Nuclear Research held a ceremonial Scientific Council meeting, during which awards were presented for scientific and research achievements as well as organizational and technical accomplishments in 2025. During the ceremony, diplomas conferring the academic degrees of Doctor and Habilitated Doctor were also awarded.
U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration Visits NCBJ
On January 20, 2026, the National Centre for Nuclear Research was visited by a delegation from the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), led by the newly appointed Deputy Administrator of the Office of Nuclear Nonproliferation, Dr. Matthew C. Napoli.
