Quantum entanglement verifies the validity of the Standard Model
An article by the BESIII team has been published in the prestigious journal *Nature*, to which researchers from the Department of High-Energy Physics at the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) made a key contribution. This latest paper presents pioneering research into hyperon decay using polarisation and quantum entanglement, which opens up a new avenue for testing the validity of the Standard Model of elementary particles and the search for new physics.

Young physicists presented their projects at NCBJ. 21st “Physical Paths” Competition concluded
The final of the 21st edition of the nationwide “Physical Paths” competition took place on 17 April at the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ). Students from across Poland, along with their teachers and representatives of the scientific community and public administration, gathered in Otwock. The winners have now been announced.

Ceremonial Scientific Council
On March 10, 2026, the National Centre for Nuclear Research held a ceremonial Scientific Council meeting, during which awards were presented for scientific and research achievements as well as organizational and technical accomplishments in 2025. During the ceremony, diplomas conferring the academic degrees of Doctor and Habilitated Doctor were also awarded.
U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration Visits NCBJ
On January 20, 2026, the National Centre for Nuclear Research was visited by a delegation from the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), led by the newly appointed Deputy Administrator of the Office of Nuclear Nonproliferation, Dr. Matthew C. Napoli.
