What do we specialise in?

The TJ3 Division is involved in research on the detection of ionising radiation. We utilise scintillation and light emission processes using various types of scintillators and a wide range of photodetectors (classical and silicon photomultipliers, avalanche diodes and others). The speciality of the division is the characterisation of new materials and the application of the developed methods in border protection, nuclear medicine and industry, extended by modern methods of machine-learning.

International collaborations allow innovative studies of escape electrons in tokamaks and the development of measurement methods for high-temperature plasma diagnostics in Z-pinch research devices (Rod Plasma Injectors and Plasma-Focus). Fundamental research in the field of atomic physics is also being carried out.
