The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of
Professor at the Institute
ref. UZ3_479
Location: Otwock - Świerk - in the outskirts of Warsaw with daily transport services provided.
Job/tasks description:
- Initiating, conducting and supervising research and development works in the field of the in the field of risk analysis related to nuclear and chemical installations.
- Initiating conducting activities and shaping the development of young academic staff, supervision over doctoral students
- Initiating and organizing scientific activity (seminars, mini-symposiums, etc.) in the field of nuclear reactor safety analyses. In particular, managing scientific and commercial projects in this area.
- Initiating and further coordinating new scientific, research and development, and practical projects in the field of safety analyses of reactor technologies
- Preparation of new research papers and conference presentations in the field of environmental engineering and safety analyses.
- Performing other activities ordered by the Laboratory head and other superiors at NCBJ
- Performing duties in accordance with the Work Regulations in force at the Institute
- Compliance with state and official secrets, work discipline, health and safety regulations, fire regulations, rules of protection against ionizing radiation
Requirements:
- Habilitation degree or the title of professor in the discipline environmental engineering, mining and energy or equivalent.
- Outstanding scientific achievements documented by numerous publications and citations in the field of environmental engineering and safety analyses of nuclear reactors. In particular, in the area of ??probabilistic methods of safety and reliability analysis for nuclear facilities, including new nuclear technologies.
- Experience in complex probabilistic nuclear safety analyses (PSA/PRA)
- Experience in the implementation of research and research and development projects
- Experience in obtaining and leading the grants and R & D & I projects
- Significant international activity in the area of ??safety and reliability of nuclear facilities, including membership in international institutions and associations and representing the country or holding leadership positions in international bodies.
- Proven collaboration in international research teams in the field of probabilistic
analyses of the safety and reliability of nuclear facilities
Additional requirements:
- Experience in cooperation with nuclear regulatory authorities in the field of nuclear facility safety, e.g. through the preparation of expert opinions, workshops, consultations, technical dialogue.
- Experience in teaching at the higher education level, including, for example, participation in the development of study programmes, organisation of summer schools, seminars, doctoral workshops, as well as acting as a supervisor or assistant supervisor of diploma theses on nuclear safety.
- Experience with probabilistic safety and reliability analyses for hightemperature reactors (HTGR), research reactors, or fusion facilities.
- Experience in designing systems important for the safety of nuclear facilities, in
particular new nuclear technologies.
