Catalyst for innovations shaping the future.

The Big Science for Polish Innovation project, implemented by the Science and Technology Park Świerk, was a response to the growing need to integrate Polish companies with the international Big Science community. The project ran from 2022 to 2025, but its main objectives are still being pursued by the staff involved.

Big Science is all about huge economic and technological opportunities. Research infrastructures such as the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN), the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), Fusion for Energy (F4E), the European X-ray Free Electron Laser (EuXFEL) Laboratory, the European Spallation Source (ESS), the European Southern Observatory (ESO), and the European Space Agency (ESA) are conducting calls for supplies and specialised services that can be provided by companies from member countries, including Poland.

Project objectives:

The Big Science project aimed to:

  • increase the participation of Polish companies in the procurement of Big Science infrastructures,
  • develop the competence of companies in international procurement,
  • support cooperation between science and industry,
  • promote Polish technological potential on the international forum.
