Accessibility declaration

The National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) will ensure the availability of its intranet site by the Act of April 4, 2019, on the accessibility of digital sites Internet and mobile applications of public entities. The accessibility statement applies to the website of the National Centre for Nuclear Research.

The intranet site, which is available only on the NCBJ internal network, is partially compliant with the Act of April 4, 2019, on the digital accessibility of websites and applications mobile public organisations due to inconsistencies or exclusions as listed below:

  1. Some illustrations do not have alternative texts, which will be gradually supplemented.
  2. There are no videos on the website. There are only links to movies on external servers.
  3. Some content created before the Act’s effective date may not follow the proper hierarchy of headings.
  4. We are working on converting all PDF files to digitally accessible versions.

Amenities

  1. The user can navigate the service with the Tab key (Windows – Tab key; Mac – Tab + Option key):
    • Pressing Tab means moving on to the following items of the page;
    • Pressing Shift + Tab means backwards after items
    • Pressing Enter means the subpage is open.
  2. On the website, you can use the standard keyboard shortcuts (for Windows: CTRL, for Mac: Command):
    • CTRL + a – select all
    • CTRL + w – close the page
    • CTRL + p – print the page
    • CTRL + d – add the displayed page to the custom tabs
    • CTRL + f – search for a phrase on a page.
  3. On the side, the possibility has been added; after turning on the „on” button, you can go directly to the Accessibility Declaration, the head page. Of the NCBJ and search engines.
    The „off” button ensures disabling shortcuts. Below is a list of shortcuts (respectively for Windows, before the shortcut, add the left Alt, i. e. Alt + shortcut, for Mac, add the Options button, i. e. Option + shortcut):
    • a – go-to the Declaration of Availability
    • c – toggle contrast
    • f – increase / decrease font size
    • i – go to the main page of the Intranet
    • n – go to the main page of NCBJ
    • p – passage to the NCBJ Employee Address Base
    • s – go to the search window on the page.
  4. We use clearly described forms.
  5. We take care of the appropriate contrast of the text to the background, thanks to which the information is readable for visually impaired people. In the scroll bar, on the right side of the screen, we have a button to increase the contrast of the page and a button to enlarge the font on the page.
  6. On the website’s home page, we have published information about the National Centre for Nuclear Research to read and understand the text easily.

The National Centre for Nuclear Research has three locations. Currently, the vast majority of buildings do not provide access for disabled people.

The Świerk Nuclear Complex is located approx. 30 km southeast of Warsaw (approx. 5 km east of Otwock). It covers an area of 44 ha – fenced, guarded and equipped with dedicated technical infrastructure – incl. three electricity supply lines and its own water intake. Most of the NCBJ research units and administration are located in the Nuclear Complex, as well as the Radioactive Waste Management Plant.

The Warsaw branch of the National Centre for Nuclear Research is located at ul. Pasteura 7. It occupies part of the building together with the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw. The branch houses the NCBJ Department of Basic Research: Department of Nuclear Physics, Department of Theoretical Physics, Department of High Energy Physics and Department of Astrophysics.
