The first conference of the SHARP COST Action
08-04-2026
In March, the first conference of the SHARP COST Action, “Structure and Spectroscopy of Hadrons Research Project” (CA24159), was held in the Portuguese village of Curia. The conference, organized primarily by the National Center for Nuclear Research (NCBJ), brought together 46 scientists. The event included working group meetings, presentations on the latest theory developments and analysis methods in hadron physics, as well as networking activities.
The SHARP Action aims to develop a “roadmap” for European hadron physics, identifying the necessary synergies and enabling their implementation. The meeting provided a platform for debate, brainstorming and collaboration among participants, bridging theory, phenomenology and experimental areas. A strategy for common outreach and dissemination on Hadron Physics topics started being delineated. The conference concluded with a spectroscopy hackathon, which served as the closing event of this successful gathering.
This event was supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), a funding agency for research and innovation networks. More information: www.cost.eu
