NCBJ researchers featured in the latest Top 2% Scientists ranking
08-10-2026
Stanford University and Elsevier have published a new list of the Top 2% Scientists. This annual ranking features researchers who make key contributions to the advancement of science. Once again this year, the list includes the names of scientists from the National Centre for Nuclear Research.
The Top 2% list covers the research output of a given year, as well as that of researchers’ entire academic careers. It is compiled on the basis of citation data and covers 22 scientific disciplines, divided into 174 research areas. This composite indicator also takes into account co-authorship of articles and the positions held by researchers, in order to place greater emphasis on the impact of their research rather than solely on the number of publications.
Scientists from the National Centre for Nuclear Research feature regularly in the ranking. The latest edition of the Stanford Top 2% Scientists List includes:
- Prof. Stanisław Mrówczyński from the Department of Fundamental Research of NCBJ
- Dr Gillaume Beuf from the Theoretical Physics Division of NCBJ
- Prof. Grzegorz Wilk from the Theoretical Physics Division of NCBJ
- Prof. Jerzy Kowalski-Glikman from the Theoretical Physics Division of NCBJ

- Prof. Andrzej Królak from the Astrophysics Division of NCBJ
