Prof. Agnieszka Pollo at the 155th anniversary of the founding of the Lviv School of Geodesy

Last week, at the auditorium of the main building of Lviv Polytechnic, celebrations were held to mark the 155th anniversary of the founding of the Lviv School of Geodesy, whose traditions are now carried on by the Institute of Geodesy of Lviv Polytechnic. The event brought together representatives of the university, academic staff, undergraduates and PhD students, as well as guests from other academic institutions and alumni.  The ceremony was also attended by representatives of foreign research institutions, including Prof. Agnieszka Pollo, Deputy Director for Science at the National Centre for Nuclear Research.

In her speech, Prof. Agnieszka Pollo congratulated the staff of the Institute of Geodesy and the entire Lviv Polytechnic. She highlighted the achievements of the Lviv School of Geodesy and the Institute of Geodesy in the development of geodesy, astronomy and space research. She also highlighted the significant contribution of the entire Lviv Polytechnic University to the development of science and education. Prof. Pollo expressed her support for Ukraine, emphasising the importance of research and education even – and especially – during wartime, and reaffirmed the readiness of the NCBJ and other Polish research institutions to further develop their cooperation with their Ukrainian colleagues.
