On September 14-18, 2026, Prof. K. Kowalska and Prof. E. Sessolo of NCBJ attended the international conference "Particle Physics in the Early Universe" in Paris. This prestigious event was co-organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Center in Paris, the Institute for Advanced Studies of the University of Warsaw, and IJCLab Orsay.

The conference united a number of theoretical physicists from top universities worldwide to explore the interplay between elementary particle physics and early-Universe cosmology. The program covered topics such as cosmological inflation, dark matter, dark energy, baryogenesis and leptogenesis, phase transitions in the early Universe, and their potential observational signatures, particularly gravitational waves. Professor Kowalska and Prof. Sessolo were invited to present their recent articles analyzing the impact of asymptotically safe quantum gravity on the nature of dark matter, neutrino masses, and first-order phase transitions in the early Universe.  

All participants of the conference were invited to meet the interim Polish Ambassador, Wiesław Tarka, at a cocktail event in the Polish Embassy, which is situated in the historical Hôtel de Monaco. The Ambassador highlighted the strong, long-standing bounds connecting the Polish and French scientific communities, a spirit of cooperation across the decades that strove to tackle the most fundamental questions in Nature and produced arguably its most shining results in the work of Maria Skłodowska-Curie.

The event marks another success for the Polish scientific community and another sign of the high international standing enjoyed by the Department of Fundamental Research at NCBJ Warsaw.
