The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of
Institute Professor
(BP4_550)
Place of work: 7 Pasteura Street, Warsaw
Job/tasks description:
- searching for opportunities to acquire or participate in research projects financed from external sources
- establishing and developing international cooperation, as well as participating in research projects with an international reach
- conducting scientific work and publishing research results in recognized scientific journals
- presenting results at international and national conferences, symposia and workshops
- cooperation with members of the research team in an atmosphere of mutual respect and professionalism
- mentor junior researchers and contribute to scientific leadership.
Requirements:
- degree of doctor habilitated
- significant expertise in the field of astrophysics of galaxy mergers, evidenced by publications
- significant expertise with the application of machine learning in the field of astrophysics, evidenced by publications
- significant experience with exploitation of both observational and simulation data in the field of astrophysics, evidenced by publications
- strong track record of being awarded competitive research funding at both the national and international level
- experience in managing research projects and managing scientific teams • experience in working in international research teams
- excellent command of English, both written and spoken, knowledge of other languages is desirable
Additional requirements:
- ability to lead and mentor young researchers within the team
- membership and data rights for the Rubin Observatory LSST survey.
