Who are we?

The Świerk Computing Centre (CIŚ) is one of the largest supercomputer centers in Poland. Our infrastructure not only supports “Maria”, the only nuclear reactor in Poland, it is also utilized to crunch data collected by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the European XFEL (free electron laser). We are a young team of enthusiasts working with cutting edge Technology to create novel IT solutions that can cope with analysis of huge data sets. Who are we looking for?

Join us to participate in our latest Artifical Inteligence & Big Data research projects.
We are looking for researchers, developers with experience in Artifical Inteligence, Machine Learning, system administration and automatization in Linux environment.We also welcome engineering, technical, mathematics, and science graduates with a strong foundation in programming who wish to develop their skills in these areas. We will manage High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure for Big Data, Artifical Inteligence and distributed Machine Learning applications and the development of novel Deep Learning models.

Possible Role and Responsibilities:

• Conduct research in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Big Data, with a particular focus on cybersecurity, computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and agentic AI systems.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of Python (3+)
• Solid theoretical background - understanding how algorithms,  tools work under the hood
• Basic knowledge of Linux, Git
• Awareness of software engineering principles, clean code, and design patterns
• Graduate of one of the top 10 Polish universities or at least 1 year of strong professional experience

AI/ML, as above plus:

• Knowledge at least one of AI/ML framework (TF, Keras, PyTorch) and  experience with scientific toolkits (Scikit-learn, Scipy/NumPy, Pandas)
• Knowledge of computer vision or unsupervised learning
• Knowledge and experience in C and/or C++

Web Developer with AI as for junior plus:

• Experience with web frameworks (e.g. Flask, Django, or FastAPI)
• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
• Basic knowledge of at least one AI/ML framework (TF, Keras, or PyTorch), scientific toolkits (scikit-learn, NumPy, pandas, SciPy)
• Basic understanding of RESTful API design and integration between backend and frontend

We appreciate:

• practical knowledge of virtualisation and containerisation technologies (e.g. KVM, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in GPGPU computing
• Understanding of database systems, both relational and/or non-relational
• Experience with management of CI/CD systems (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Travis-CI)
• Basic knowledge of message brokers (e.g. Apache Kafka, ZeroMQ)
• Experience in work in HPC environment
• Versatile flexible developers
• Passion and thirst for knowledge
• Contribution to open source projects
• A knowledge-sharing mindset and collaborative culture
• Experience in Linux system administration
• Practical knowledge of orchestration tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible)
• Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, shell scripts)
