Postoc
at the High Energy Physics Division

Position funded under the NCN SONATA-BIS project, "Investigation of Hadron Structure Using Semileptonic Baryon Decays" (https://ncn.gov.pl/sites/default/files/listy-rankingowe/2025-06-16-TutuRoKi3z/streszczenia/655369-pl.pdf). The project manager is dr Varvara Batozskaya.
You will join an active and dynamically developing research team at the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ), which works closely with leading scientific institutions in China, including the Institute of High Energy Physics, and in Sweden, including Uppsala University. The team is an active member of the international BESIII collaboration, combining expertise in experimental data analysis and phenomenology. We offer an inspiring research environment that supports scientific development, where you will work closely with PhD students, experienced researchers, and partners from international research institutions. The position also provides opportunities to take initiative and contribute to shaping the direction of ongoing research.
Description of tasks
- The successful candidate will play a key role in data analysis, the development of analytical tools, and the implementation of advanced methods for spin-dependent studies. The position also provides opportunities for research visits to leading laboratories, including BESIII, as well as participation in international conferences and workshops.
Requirements for the candidate:
- Hold a PhD in particle physics or a related field, obtained no earlier than 7 years before the year of employment (according to the NCN post-doc definition), from an institution other than the planned place of employment. During the period of receiving remuneration - no other remuneration from NCN projects and no employment under an employment contract elsewhere
- Have significant experience in data analysis in experimental particle physics.
- Have strong programming skills, particularly in C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Have a good knowledge of particle physics and statistical methods used in data analysis.
- Demonstrate very good spoken and written English skills.
- Be able to work independently as well as effectively collaborate within an international research team.
