The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of:
Professor
at the Division of Astrophysics (BP4)
nr ref.: BP4_373
Localization: Pasteura 7, 02-093 Warsaw
Description of tasks:
- managing the implementation of statutory tasks carried out in the Department of Astrophysics (BP4);
- searching for opportunities to acquire or participate in research projects financed from external sources;
- establishing and developing international cooperation, as well as participating in research projects with an international reach;
- conducting scientific work and publishing research results in recognized scientific journals;
- presenting results at international and national conferences, symposia and workshops;
- cooperation with members of the research team in an atmosphere of mutual respect and professionalism;
- compliance with the Institute's Work Regulations and applicable regulations in the field of: protection of classified and official information, work discipline, occupational health and safety, fire protection, protection against ionizing radiation.
Requirements for the candidate:
- academic title of professor
- well-established scientific achievements in the field of astrophysics corresponding to the Polish title of professor;
- well documented research achievements regarding properties of galaxies, in particular, the attenuation caused by dust in the intergalactic medium;
- extensive knowledge of new optical and infrared sky surveys;
- good command of English, both written and spoken, knowledge of other languages is desirable;
- experience in managing research projects and managing scientific teams;
- experience in working in international research teams;
- experience in obtaining external funds for research.
