The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of

Assistant professor
at the Nuclear Physics Division (BP1)

Localization: Pasteura 7, 02-093 Warsaw

Description of tasks:

  • Theoretical analysis of new and existing near-barrier direct reaction data by means of DWBA, CC and CRC calculations. 
  • Participation in experiments at national and international facilities.
  • Presentation of results at national and international conferences, symposia and workshops.
  • Publication of research results in reputable scientific journals.

Requirements for the candidate:

  • Academic degree of doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) in theoretical nuclear physics with specialisation in direct reaction studies.
  • Demonstrated research achievements in low-energy direct nuclear reaction studies.
  • Familiarity with the code FRESCO, in particular for transfer reaction calculations.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience of working in international teams.

Additional assets:

  • Some knowledge of the CDCC technique as applied to calculations of the breakup of weakly bound light nuclei will be an advantage.
