Prof. Agnieszka Pollo at the 155th anniversary of the founding of the Lviv School of Geodesy
Last week, at the auditorium of the main building of Lviv Polytechnic, celebrations were held to mark the 155th anniversary of the founding of the Lviv School of Geodesy, whose traditions are now carried on by the Institute of Geodesy of Lviv Polytechnic. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of foreign research institutions, including Prof. Agnieszka Pollo, Deputy Director for Science at the National Centre for Nuclear Research.

Young physicists presented their projects at NCBJ. 21st “Physical Paths” Competition concluded
The final of the 21st edition of the nationwide “Physical Paths” competition took place on 17 April at the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ). Students from across Poland, along with their teachers and representatives of the scientific community and public administration, gathered in Otwock. The winners have now been announced.
4NEW project inauguration

Ceremonial Scientific Council
On March 10, 2026, the National Centre for Nuclear Research held a ceremonial Scientific Council meeting, during which awards were presented for scientific and research achievements as well as organizational and technical accomplishments in 2025. During the ceremony, diplomas conferring the academic degrees of Doctor and Habilitated Doctor were also awarded.
U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration Visits NCBJ
On January 20, 2026, the National Centre for Nuclear Research was visited by a delegation from the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), led by the newly appointed Deputy Administrator of the Office of Nuclear Nonproliferation, Dr. Matthew C. Napoli.
