29-08-2025
The Energetyka Bełchatów 2025 conference brings together representatives of industry, public administration and the scientific community to discuss energy strategies and the security and stability of energy supplies. This year's edition, which will take place on 2-3 September, will be attended by specialists in nuclear energy and reactor physics from the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ).
During the 27th edition, participants will tackle the most important challenges of energy transformation in thematic debates. Particular attention will be paid to nuclear energy. Scientists from the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) will also participate as experts in this field.
In the debate "The future of nuclear energy – technological, social and legal challenges", Prof. Mariusz Dąbrowski, head of the Division of Nuclear Energy and Environmental Studies at NCBJ, will address the challenges of implementing nuclear projects in Europe and worldwide. He will discuss, among other things, the construction and modernisation of transmission infrastructure and technical facilities for nuclear power plants, as well as the integration of these plants into the existing energy network. The discussion will also focus on the challenges associated with creating new jobs and the need to train highly qualified personnel. Participants will address the role of the state in financing nuclear projects and the possibilities for cooperation within public-private partnerships.
In the debate entitled "Maintaining nuclear power plants: safety and reliability – are we ready for it?" the National Centre for Nuclear Research will be represented by Paweł Nowakowski, MSc, Director of the Nuclear Facilities Operation Department, and Grzegorz Mrugała, MSc, from the Division of Nuclear Energy and Environmental Studies. During the debate, experts will discuss, among other things, monitoring and diagnostic systems in nuclear power plants and the automation of maintenance and repair processes. Issues of cybersecurity and the competencies required for teams responsible for the maintenance of nuclear power plants will also be addressed. An important issue will be the optimisation of equipment maintenance costs while maintaining high safety standards.
