NCBJ leads discussions on the future of hydrogen technologies – the PCHET 2025 conference

13-10-2025

The 8th edition of the Polish Conference for Hydrogen Energy and Technologies (PCHET), one of Poland's most important events dedicated to hydrogen technologies and energy transition, will begin on 15 October. This year's conference is held under the honorary patronage of the National Centre for Nuclear Research. The director of the NCBJ will be among the experts participating in the conference.

Prof. Kupecki will take part in discussions on hydrogen production and logistics, and the power system after 2030. During the panel discussion entitled "Hydrogen production and logistics: Foundations of the green energy transformation", he will join industry experts in presenting the most important hydrogen production technologies and their practical applications in Poland and Europe. Participants will discuss key challenges – from storage and transport to the integration of hydrogen with renewable energy sources – and indicate the prospects for the development of the hydrogen economy in the coming years.

In the panel discussion entitled "Power System 2030+: Nuclear, Wind and Hydrogen – A New Energy Architecture for the Region", the director of NCBJ will join representatives of major investors, infrastructure operators and public administration. The discussion will focus on the following key projects: offshore wind energy, the development of gas and hydrogen infrastructure, and the construction of Poland's first nuclear power plant. The panellists will attempt to answer questions such as: will Pomerania become the energy centre of Poland and Central Europe; how to effectively combine different power sources – from nuclear to wind and hydrogen; and what challenges lie ahead for local governments and residents of the region.

The Polish Conference for Hydrogen Energy and Technologies PCHET 2025 is the most important national forum for knowledge about hydrogen technologies, sustainable energy and industrial transformation. This year's edition, organised by the Hydrogen Technology Cluster, will bring together specialists, practitioners and representatives of institutions from the energy sector at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park. Over two days, panels will be held during which participants will discuss the decarbonisation of industry, the new architecture of the Pomeranian energy system, the development of offshore wind energy and the use of hydrogen in public transport, ports, freight transport and the heating of the future.

The event is held under the honorary patronage of the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ).
