27-02-2026

The National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ), in cooperation with the University of Warsaw, has launched the postgraduate programme “Nuclear Technologies”. The programme is designed to educate specialists for the rapidly developing nuclear energy sector and advanced technologies using ionising radiation.

The studies are jointly delivered by the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Warsaw and NCBJ, combining strong academic background with hands-on experience at the only research nuclear reactor in Poland – MARIA.

The curriculum covers nuclear and reactor physics, nuclear technologies, nuclear chemistry and radiochemistry, nuclear safety, radiation protection, and legal aspects of the nuclear sector. Approximately 30% of the programme consists of laboratory classes and workshops conducted in small groups, including practical training at the MARIA research reactor in Świerk.

Lectures are held at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, while laboratory classes take place at NCBJ. The programme is part-time and organised in weekend sessions.

The studies are addressed to university graduates who want to gain interdisciplinary knowledge and practical skills for careers in nuclear energy, research institutions, regulatory bodies, and public administration.
Admissions are now open.
