Energy Days 2025 is a conference that brings together over 1,500 people to discuss the challenges facing the Polish energy sector. During one of the panels, Prof. Jakub Kupecki, Director of the National Centre for Nuclear Research, will join a group of experts to discuss the role of small modular reactors in the energy system and the Polish economy.

The Energy Days conference is a two-day event during which representatives of the largest companies from the energy, industry and construction sectors, as well as regulators, decision-makers and experts from the scientific community, meet to address the challenges posed by the energy transformation in Poland. As part of dozens of discussion panels, debates, presentations and demonstrations, participants will discuss topics such as electricity, heat, nuclear power and gas, renewable energy sources, digitalisation in energy management, but also energy innovation and technology, as well as the human resources needed in the energy sector.

Nuclear reactors are an indispensable element of the discussion on energy. Prof. Jakub Kupecki, Director of the National Centre for Nuclear Research, will be a participant in one of the discussion panels to be held on October 2nd. During the "Small Atom" panel, Prof. Kupecki, together with a group of energy industry specialists, will address the topic of the use of small modular reactors in the Polish energy sector. The experts will consider the target role of SMRs in the Polish energy system and economy. The discussions will also focus on the maturity of this technology and the possibilities for its commercialisation, as well as the costs of energy generated by reactors of this type.
