Last week, the National Centre for Nuclear Research hosted a delegation from Westinghouse Electric Company. The visit was an opportunity for Westinghouse representatives to learn more about the research capabilities of the NCBJ. 

During the meetings, specialists from NCBJ presented the Institute's activities. They presented the scope of operation of the MARIA research reactor and research conducted on materials intended for the nuclear industry. Issues related to future Generation IV reactors and advanced safety analyses using the resources of the Świerk Computing Centre were also discussed. The guests had the opportunity to learn about the NCBJ's research infrastructure, including the MARIA nuclear reactor.

In October 2025, the National Centre for Nuclear Research and Westinghouse Electric Company signed a cooperation agreement in the field of nuclear energy research. Joint activities will allow both entities to leverage their potential and strengthen the development of a modern nuclear energy sector in Poland, including the implementation of the Polish nuclear programme.
