22-01-2026
Individual tour of the MARIA nuclear research reactor with the Minister of Energy, Miłosz Motyka, and the Director of the National Centre for Nuclear Research, Prof. Jakub Kupecki, as well as a limited-edition LEGO set enabling the assembly of a MARIA reactor model, are among the NCBJ offerings for auction as part of the 34th edition of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The auctions are available on Allegro as part of the official WOŚP auctions.
Visit to the MARIA Nuclear Reactor with the Minister of Energy
This auction is for a one-on-one visit to the MARIA nuclear reactor, the only operating research reactor in Poland, accompanied by the Minister of Energy, Miłosz Motyka, and the Director of the National Centre for Nuclear Research. The reactor is located on the grounds of the National Centre for Nuclear Research in Otwock. This is a unique opportunity to explore one of the most technologically advanced research facilities in the country and learn about its importance for the development of science and healthcare in Poland. The winner will be able to invite three companions. This tour is for participants aged 13 and over. The tour is open until June 30, 2026, and must be arranged two weeks in advance. Travel is not included.

Build your own nuclear reactor – limited edition LEGO MARIA research reactor
The auction includes a limited edition set of LEGO building blocks that allow you to assemble a model of the MARIA research reactor yourself. The set celebrates the National Centre for Nuclear Research's long-standing work in the field of nuclear research, technological innovation, and practical applications of science, including nuclear medicine. The LEGO bricks are from a limited edition (only 150 pieces) released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the MARIA reactor. The set contains 196 pieces.
The MARIA reactor plays a key role in the production of radioisotopes used in diagnostics and therapy, making nuclear research a crucial element of modern medicine and a real support for patients. The submitted items demonstrate that nuclear research not only serves science but also has a real impact on the health and lives of patients. "Participating in the WOŚP Finale is a natural way for NCBJ to combine science with social responsibility. Through these auctions, we want not only to support an important medical goal but also to demonstrate how nuclear research translates into health and quality of life. At the same time, with this initiative, we emphasize the fact that NCBJ is one of the few global producers of drugs and diagnostic devices for nuclear medicine. This is a unique opportunity to see firsthand the heart of nuclear research in Poland," says Prof. Jakub Kupecki, Director of NCBJ. In this way, NCBJ combines its daily research mission with social and charitable activities.
