Tegoroczne E-MRS Fall Meeting 2025 wyjątkowe dla NCBJ

This year's E-MRS Fall Meeting 2025 exceptional for NCBJ

26-09-2025

On 15–18 September 2025, the Warsaw University of Technology campus hosted the E-MRS Fall Meeting 2025 – one of Europe's most important scientific events in the field of materials research. This year's conference included 23 thematic symposia in four main areas: materials for energy and sustainable development, characterisation and simulation techniques supported by artificial intelligence, thin films and composite materials, and advanced electronic and quantum materials.

A special role in this edition of the E-MRS Fall Meeting was played by Symposium U: ‘Metal oxide nanomaterials for advanced optoelectronics and environmental applications’, co-organised by Renata Ratajczak from the Synthesis and Characterisation of Materials Division at the Research Infrastructure Department of the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ). The symposium attracted 122 participants, including 12 invited speakers, and featured 56 oral presentations, making it the largest of all 23 symposiums at the conference. The sessions included oral presentations, poster sessions and panel discussions with representatives of leading research and industrial centres.

Although the E-MRS Fall Meeting is held annually in Warsaw, the 2025 edition was special for NCBJ. For the first time, our Institute acted as both co-organiser and sponsor of the symposium, which significantly increased the international visibility and prestige of NCBJ.

Awards for young scientists

The promotion of young researchers is an important element of every conference, including E-MRS. Thanks to the large number of participants in Symposium U, in accordance with E-MRS regulations, it was possible to award two prizes of €450 each in the young scientist competition. - Thanks to the support of the session sponsors, including NCBJ, we were also able to fund a prize for 3rd place and a prize for the best poster. These awards motivate young scientists to participate in such competitions and actively present the results of their research, while emphasising the role of NCBJ in promoting young talent and supporting innovative research on materials of the future - says dr hab. Renata Ratajczak.

We cordially invite you to participate in the E-MRS Fall Meeting 2026, which will take place on 14–17 September 2026 in Warsaw. We would especially like to invite you to participate in the next edition of Symposium U, in further cooperation with NCBJ.
